From aid to recovery: Using federal money to spur a little company rebound

“Small business” is an unhelpfully broad phase. This brief focuses on smaller companies with much less than 100 workers, with the acknowledgement that scaled-down corporations have expert specific worries throughout the financial disaster.

Collectively, tiny corporations with fewer than 100 workforce represent 97{ef1bfe4afb8c637c3d9b733b168b5a276a6c840b9e3c68899db88d855f264c06} of all corporations and account for 49{ef1bfe4afb8c637c3d9b733b168b5a276a6c840b9e3c68899db88d855f264c06} of U.S. work.[i] Our analysis draws on a typology established by Karen Mills and Mercedes Delgado to break modest employer enterprises into 4 categories dependent on their business: Exporters, Regional Suppliers, Treatment, and Principal Road.[ii] Relying on the items they supply and the customers they concentrate on, compact corporations experienced differing degrees of exposure to the COVID-19-induced financial disaster, will have distinct development trajectories throughout the restoration, and change in their impression on personal prosperity development, neighborhood revitalization, and regional economic progress.
